Frolicking Fairy

I posted this photo before I completed it because I want to see how it looks on the web. I will update it as I get it finished.

The Fox and the House

This was an old abandoned house next to Rose Hill Cemetery. I loved this house. One day I decided to pull in and take a couple pictures with my little camera I carry in my purse. It was an overcast day and I didn't think the photos turned out very well. I didn't do anything with these pictures until after I took a Photoshop class. I had also been watching videos on Lynda.com about photo editing. I played around with this and I thought it came out really well. I searched Google images for a dog to put in the front yard. I wanted it to be running towards me. I have a photo like that, but I thought it would take too long to find it and my projects had to be turned in that day. I found this photo of a fox so I used it.

Abandoned House

This is the original photo. As you can see, there is a huge difference between the two.

Master Study Project for School

Rembrandt Master Study

Rembrandt

This project was called a "Master Study". We had to take a famouse picture and replace objects and make it our own somehow. I chose to make all the heads in this picture Obama heads. While I was surfing the web looking for Obama heads, I came across this really cool photo of McCain. The expression was priceless. I decided to use him for the body. After all... the body was white and so is McCain. Here is a picture of the original.

I just noticed that I didn't change the color of the hands on the doctors. Ha ha, he must have that Michael Jackson disease.

Photo Project for School

I had to do some photo projects for school. This is one of the samples. I am still trying to figure out the color profile thing. The first photo has a color profile of ProPhoto and the second one has a color profile of RGB.

I have read articles saying that if you plan on printing your photos that you should use the ProPhoto color profile. This was fine with me. I used this profile and everything looked fine. Well it was fine until I posted my photos to the web. I started noticing that my colors were different. I asked other people to look at the photos and tell me what they thought. Some people couldn't tell the difference, while others did notice a huge dfference.

I started reading everything I could find on color profiles and posting stuff to the web. It turns out that not all web browsers can recognize all color profiles. I still use the ProPhoto color profile. If I plan on posting a photo to the web, I convert the final photo color profile to sRGB or Adobe RGB color profile.

I noticed that if you bring this page up in Internet Explorer and Firefox, there is a difference in they way they are displayed. IE8 the colors are darker and you can see a big difference between the two photos. Firefox 3.5.5 both photos look about the same color and richness. I noticed this difference while looking at these pages on my laptop. I haven't looked at them on my desktop yet.
