Dutchess

We aquired Dutchess for Tia's birthday. I agreed to let her get a cat, but I wanted to pick it. Grandma Mary had two sets of baby kittens. I wanted the little grey one, but we couldn't catch it. Grandpa kept telling me, "This is my favorite one. Which ever one you don't take, we have to take to the dog pound." I felt sorry for him, he really liked this one, so I took it.

Ray wasn't happy when he found out we had a cat. He asked where it was. It stayed hidden for the first two days. I told him, "see, it's like we don't have a cat at all." Then dutchets got stuck in the furnace pipe. Ray had to take the duct work apart to rescue her. Then she fell down in between the walls. We thought we were going to have to break the wall out. Luckily she fell all the way to the basement.

After she got comfortable with us, she was a great cat. We loved her. She acted more like a dog than a cat.

We had her for about 1 1/2 years before she started tearing stuff up and I had to have her declawed. She wasn't happy about that. She wouldn't come near me for at least 3 weeks. She knew I was responsible for that. I guess because I put her in the cage to take her to the vet.
