Winter Photos

Somewhere in Kentucky

I took this photo somewhere in Kentucky. It is tagged with the GPS information; however, when you save it as a JPG from an NEF file it drops the info.

I played around with this one a little. the only real color was in the tree. I converted it to black and white and it looked pretty good. I just happened to be looking at photos on Flickr.com and noticed one of my contacts put a couple new textures out. I decided to try these with this photo. I like the dramatic mood the textures added to the photo.

Winter in Gatlinburg, Tennessee

There are some advantages to detours. If you don't follow the posted signs you could end up miles out of your way. This is what happened to us. We had a GPS so we should have been alright. Unfortunately, the GPS didn't tell us about the second detour.

Driving throught he mountains, we noticed that the tops of the mountains were white with what we thought was snow. As we drove higher, we realized that it was the clouds freezing on the trees.

It was cold and windy this night. This town is very traditional and had beautiful decorations. This photo came out pretty good. It is a single frame HDR.

Hocking Hills

I took a quick trip out to Hocking Hills to see what it looked like. I wish I had of went earlier in the week.

It was beautiful. Of course there had to be a bunch of idiots there climbing all over the ice and breaking ice cycles. What is wrong with people? Why can't they just appreciate something beautiful and leave it the way they found it for someone else to enjoy.

I am only putting one photo out here for the moment. I will put more out here as I get a chance.
